Rumford Bridgens Price has an unshakeable attachment to all things property. More specifically though, we are fanatical about character buildings.
We buy, we build, we renovate, we restore, we re-configure, we add value, we sell, we keep and we invest in some of Britain’s finest architectural triumphs.
For us, there is little as fascinating as peeling back a building of historical significance and visualising how those before us once interacted with the same spaces. More simply put, keeping our food fresh and ourselves warm is easy nowadays, yet older buildings often provoke thought about how such things were possible without today’s mod-cons – such thought can sometimes produce fantastic modern features....this results in the building having "character".
Some of the engineering accomplishments we have witnessed force us to stop and consider what the generations before us did to afford us the depth of heritage our country is famous for. From restoring of original fireplaces to centuries’ old door hinges our work is designed to future proof some of Britain’s heritage.
With the continued alerts of housing shortages and just 1-2% of the UK being actually “built on” The great myth of Urban Britain a ferocious yet understandably protective planning front line, low interest rates and population growth rising more sharply now than in last 70 years** Britain has the perfect storm for creating inflated property prices.
We think we are helping, "a small drop in the ocean" some might say, but we are proud to breathe new life into (often empty) offices, shops and commercial premises – recycling and delivering homes for the people of Britain. By cleverly rethinking internal spaces, applying the formula for 21st century living, we are developing unique lifestyle opportunities and offering a little piece of history to society.
Three IS the magic number. This isn’t just a British adage. Some of the best things truly do come in threes.
It’s no coincidence that triangles are recognised as the strongest shape. Why? A triangle can withstand added force as it’s evenly spread through all three sides. In fact the quickest and easiest way to strengthen a square or rectangle is by using a diagonal piece through the middle ultimately creating two triangles next to one another.
Rumford Bridgens Price resembles a triangle. We are collaboration of three individuals who were all involved in property in their own individual way. Our alliance is based on wholesome values and a strong desire to create lasting quality products. Perhaps most important of all is our complimentary skill sets which have given us scale enabling us to move into larger more prestigious development projects.

Brook House, St Neots
Our next project will be one of St Neot’s architecturally most important buildings. Dating back to the 17th century, Brook House is a fantastic example of a grade II * listed Building. This building is a rare find and the RBP team are enthused to be buying this building for restoration & refurbishment.
Like many large older buildings across the UK, Brook House has been altered time and time again making its original state a now distant memory. More recently Brook House was converted to offices probably during the last economic cycle. This process can often overlook many of the original features which may have been covered over or removed entirely. There will also be some more modern additions over the years as the building was adapted and used in different capacities throughout its life. RBP hopes to turn back time and expose, restore and re-purpose some of what once was. We will do whatever we can to match the grandeur of the buildings external façade with the new internal spaces.
If our planning application is successful we will create 5 unique luxury apartments that we believe future proofs the heritage of this building. Although Brook House has the space for creating more homes, RBP will resist the temptation of “cramming” in as many apartments as possible - instead RBP believes its’ considered approach is the perfect blend of retaining heritage and character while appreciating the diversity in our society's modern-living needs.
